[Jordan and Faith are swept along to the forest in the Labyrinth, the gloom of the thick trees surrounding them only broken by the strange reflections cast by the trees and other greenery surrounding them. Jordan's eyes are wide as he looks around, recognition and horror slowly creeping over his features as he takes in where they are. After a beat he seems to remember Faith, looking around for her quickly, immediately going to her side.] Hey, Faith are you okay?

[The tree is surprisingly smooth to the touch, and as she pulls her fingers away they're coated with glitter. Jordan watches her, curiosity canting his head to the side.]

You might have more luck getting it outta him then I would.

[moonheart]

Why's that? [ what if she just smears it down her cheeks like a football player ]

[wishuponadjinn]

[lol well then she looks like a glittery football player I guess haha.

He watches her smear glitter on herself like an Indian warrior, brows creeping high on his forehead.]

Well, Father and I don't really have the best relationship in the world. And he's always seemed to have a soft spot where you and your family are concerned, so if you asked you'd probably have a better chance getting the truth than I would.

[Just casually drops the fact that Jareth, and apparently himself, have been keeping tabs on her and her family...]

[moonheart]

Because of the wishes, you mean?

[wishuponadjinn]

[His eyes are glued to the path in front of them, tongue pocketing his cheek for a moment. After a beat he nods his head, still not meeting her eyes.] Yeah, 'cuz of the wishes.

[moonheart]

I guess our folks did go a little overboard.

[wishuponadjinn]

[He lets out a breathy laugh, nodding] Yeah, just a bit. I suppose it's not surprising though.

[moonheart]

It is a little bit. My parents usually have more self control than like, I do.

[wishuponadjinn]

Yeah, I guess they do [chuckle] but faced with that much power? The ability to stop that lunatic, with a few perks on the side? It's hard to say who would resist that much temptation. [Oh, the foreshadowing]

[moonheart]

I'm resisting right now, aren't I? I mean you're a genie. [ makes no nevermind about how she like wished he would kiss her like an hour ago shhhh ]

[wishuponadjinn]

[He chuckles at that bcuz uh he sure remembers, but lets it slide. Yeah, but you're also not facing down a megalomaniac like they were.

[He pauses, considering that statement a moment] Well... at least not one who wants to take over the world.

[moonheart]

I thought that was the definition of a megalomaniac.

[wishuponadjinn]

Technically it's someone who is obsessed with their own power. But it's all semantics, either way.

[The gloom of the woods increases the deeper they go, the scurrying of little woodland creatures and other things surrounding them on both sides, but never close enough to see.

[moonheart]

[ she rolls her eyes, dismissive ] Whatever. Where are we going?

[wishuponadjinn]

To my Father's castle. My home. It's at the other side of the Labyrinth, unfortunately.

[moonheart]

Is there a shortcut?

[wishuponadjinn]

I wish there was, but unfortunately Father designed the Labyrinth to thwart any such attempt by those who come here. Even his own kin.

[moonheart]

So what are we on the lookout for?

[wishuponadjinn]

Uh, Goblins mostly. Although there are plenty of other threats around here. Weird, twisted creatures in the woods and Labyrinth itself... Pretty much anything that isn't a field mouse.

[moonheart]

What do we do if we see one?

[wishuponadjinn]

[That actually draws a small chuckle out of him.] Well, most of them will recognize me as Jareth's son, which should be enough to deter them. Or we can try and scare them off since most of the creatures here are easily frightened.

The only real problem we could encounter is if Father orders them to capture us.

[moonheart]

And then we get to fight 'em?

[wishuponadjinn]

[He gives her an amused look, chuckling.] Yeah, then we get to fight them.

[they walk a ways through the woods as they darken further, and suddenly there is a sound to their right, faint at first but definitely getting closer. Jordan doesn't seem to notice the noise at first, walking with his eyes focused on the path in front of them.]

[moonheart]

Hey, whoa. I hear something. [ she pinches the back of his shirt to slow him to a stop. ] Over there.
